Ioan Feher, a Romanian resident in the United Kingdom, is suspected of working with the Russian Killnet hacking gang, which has carried out DDoS attacks on the Romanian government, the Ministry of National Defense, the Romanian Police, airports, and Digi24 television websites. The strikes by the Russian faction took place during the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
A large-scale cyberattack has been undertaken against Romanian government institutions since April 29. The Romanian government, Ministry of National Defense, Romanian Railways (CFR), and Romanian Border Police all had their websites hacked.
Killnet, a Russian cyber hacking group, claimed responsibility for the attack on the Romanian Institutes’ websites. Killnet has pledged to conduct cyber operations against countries and organisations that have helped Ukraine financially.
