The artists that represent the group of founders and teachers of the school have as an objective that every four years to form a new generation of artists, namely instrumentalist artists, specialists of highly professional attire, who can interpret Romanian music from all ethnofolkloric areas of Romania but also know and can interpret the music of other peoples. All vocal and instrumentalist artists should be able to work in the ensembles and orchestras of popular music in Romania after completing the schools’ courses and specific training.

Moreover, Zorila School doesn’t just offer courses to grow the potential connection to the folklore world in the youth, form and educate them, and have classes for talented children, but it also offers vocational classes, together with instruction courses and sessions for singers and instrumentalists already part of bands and orchestras and already established in the music scene.

As such, ARCUB partnered up with Zorila School to organize registrations for a new series of traditional vocal-interpretation courses, which will take place between October 2022 to June 2023 at Eliad House on Mircea Voda 5 Street.

The Holzstock Festival will hold its eighth iteration in a spectacular setting this August. The Hosman Fortified Church is where the event is, and the organizers hope to generate money to renovate it this year.

Living Rock 2022- August 19-21

IntenCity Festival- August 26-28

The Craiova Sports Complex will host the IntenCity Festival from August 26 to 28, which brings together past, present, and future music to honour those who know how to keep the summer rhythm going (Ion Oblemenco Stadium). DJ Snake, Jason Derulo, Afrojack, Luis Fonsi, Clean Bandit, and Paul van Dyk are among the performers.

Luis Fonsi, the Puerto Rican musician and composer behind „Despacito,” will give a live performance on the IntenCity stage during the festival’s opening night. The 26th of August will see a number of well-known performers from the 1980s and 1990s performing in Craiova. Apocalyptica- August 31

Apocalyptica performs in Cluj-Napoca on August 31 at Form Space. The event is the rescheduling of the original concert, planned for October 4, 2021, so tickets already purchased remain valid. The show will respect all the rules in force on the date of its performance.

Apocalyptica have been present on the metal scene since 1993, initially being a band that approached Metallica’s music using, however, classical instruments. However, gradually the band became a representative exponent of the Symphonic Metal style, releasing 9 studio albums to date.

The violinist David Garrett’s concerts, which were supposed to take place in October 2021 in Bucharest and Cluj, have been rescheduled. Bucharest Jazz Festival- September 16-18

The 2022 edition of the Bucharest Jazz Festival will feature brand-new performances and live sessions. Bucharest Jazz Festival 2022 will take place in The Combinatul Fondului Plastic, a venue devoted to events in the arts and design field, in a first for the jazz community.

Three themed evenings make up the festival schedule. The festival’s first day is devoted to jazz musicians from the younger generation, who perform four performances with the title „Young Blood Jazz Musicians.” The „Jazz Diaspora” event features performances by jazz musicians from Romania. Nikos Vertis – October 6

Nikos Vertis, indisputably the most loved artist of Greece, returns to Romania on October 6 at Sala Palatului in Bucharest for another incredible concert. The artist, rewarded with several platinum discs for his compositions, will offer an extraordinary show of Greek music this fall in Bucharest.

The audience will be the sixth jury of the Eurovision final. In the last phase of the National Selection, the winner will be decided by the jury of the competition – Alexandra Ungureanu, Ozana Barabancea, Randi, Cristian Faur, and Adrian Romcescu – and by viewers (via SMS), the score given by the public having the weight given by a jury.

Due to the associated international situations and epidemiological restrictions, the management of the artist David Garrett has decided to postpone all the concerts of the European „ALIVE” tour scheduled for April and May 2022.

What are the new dates of the David Garrett concerts in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca?

Although it was not an easy decision for the parties involved in the planning of the world tour, the Romanian organizers complied and rescheduled the concerts that should have taken place on May 17 at the Palace Hall in Bucharest and on May 20 at BT Arena Cluj- Napoca. Thus, the meeting of the Romanian public with the famous violinist David Garrett, in the „ALIVE” concert, will take place on September 1, at the BT Arena in Cluj-Napoca, and on September 3, at the Palace Hall in Bucharest.

According to TVR (Romanian television), presenter Eda Marcus was not permitted to broadcast live the results of the Romanian judging by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The Romanian jury’s vote was overturned by the EBU.

It should be noted that the Eurovision show is taped one night before the broadcast in order to avoid unforeseen circumstances that could jeopardize the broadcast. The judging, on the other hand, is live-streamed. The jury, appointed by Romanian television to judge the artistic moments, met and voted on Friday evening. The procedure is typical. Before the organizers have the score, it is uploaded to a platform. In the case of Romania, the jury awarded Moldova maximum points, implying that the 12 points were assigned to Moldova rather than Ukraine.

The scores are uploaded to an online platform, they are processed on the evening of the show and a few minutes before I go live, the EBU practically takes out of that platform where these notes were introduced by my colleagues, a sheet that I have to show in the presence of a notary. This sheet is printed and brought to me in 5 minutes. (…) Imagine the shock of my colleague, Diana Damian, who took care of this procedure, when she handed me with that sheet, knowing what was the ranking she had given the night before when she looked at the sheet and saw 12 points for Ukraine.

EBU has been notified in advance of this mistake. According to the Romanian television presenter, EBU communicated something evasive.

We were told to do it as written, that they are EBU and that they will clarify the situation. That’s how I ended up with the 12-point sheet for Ukraine and couldn’t broadcast live anymore.

What were Romania’s actual scores at EUROVISION?

The total scores offered by Romania were the following: Moldova – 12 points, Grece – 10 points, Poland – 8 points, Netherlands – 7 points, Azerbaijan – 6 points, Australia – 5 points, Italy – 4 points, Spain – 3 points, Finland – 2 points, Lithuania – 1 point.

Despite reports that Romania had technical issues, it was announced after the contest that the jury from Romania and other countries had been disqualified. The juries of six nations competing in the second EUROVISION 2022 semi-final, according to the EBU, have been disqualified due to irregularities. Instead, a replacement aggregate result was introduced for each country for both the second semi-final and the grand final (calculated based on the results of other countries with a similar voting history). Azerbaijan, Georgia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, and San Marino were among the six disqualified national juries.

Some believe that the situation with Ukraine has deteriorated and that it has gone too far. Others argue that if the Ukrainians were already certain to win the Eurovision contest, why did they hide it? One thing is certain. Eurovision has always been a political game, with a lot of money and interest in the middle hidden behind a veil of empathy, much like this year. To avoid becoming a victim of such a game, Romania should withdraw from the competition permanently, as should many other countries.
